Our multi functional and decorative African wooden bowls are handcarved in Zimbabwe. They can be described as functional pieces of art, as they can be used for display and for serving dry food.
The artists cut a log to form a rough bowl shape. The bowl is then ground to its desired thickness and sanded in preparation for the painting. The bowl is painted with natural pigments and sealed and polished. The bowl is hand-painted.
The bowls are Fair Trade, and your purchase of these bowls will help provide a stable income and a good standard of living for the artists and their families. Each bowl is individually made each unique with its own markings.
