About the producer:
******IMPORTANT UPDATE*******
This brand did not make it through the past few years of global craziness. When you go to the website - its gone! :(. All links to their articles are gone. The only thing I can think of to explain this, is that the business name has been registered to a Indian business who has enough finances to remove any online content of this brands amazing work. It is like they have been erased. But we will not forget them here (We do however, need to change the product heading to something more generic).
Usually when items are sold we reinvest back into the producer group that made the item . As we can't do this with this gorgeous product - We will shift all proceeds to our work in Uganda that with a registered charity that trains and microfinances businesses for the vulnerable and in need. I think the ladies from this Black mamba would love that their work is still making a difference.
Love,
Yvie xo
This was their story and its spirit is still held within each item:
Black Mamba Creations was born In South Africa with focus on local minerals and resources. All their goods were produced from ethically sourced materials in South Africa. Their commitment to sustainable resources and conservation is embodied in their products with a percentage from each item sold being donated to nature conservation in the form of the Black Mamba Anti-Poaching Unit, a Rhino protection initiative in South Africa.
Their Copper jewellery collection hailed from the Lowlands of South Africa where miners once found their fortunes in gold discoveries.
Copper is an ancient and well known medium of exchange in Africa and has been traded throughout the world, bringing focus to Africa.
Black Mambas is so much more than just jewellery- They have an Anti Poaching Unit:
Rhinos face extinction due to the misbelief that their horns hold medicinal value. Whilst this is absolutely incorrect, they are being poached into extinction. There are various organizations that all play a critical role in the protection of the Rhino. The Black Mambas Anti-poaching unit is one such unit but is unique in that it is an all female unit. Black Mamba Creations has elected to support this unit by donating at least 10% of all profits from sales to the unit.
